DISS AND DISTRICT NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN (DDNP)

On Thursday 24th March 2022, at 12 noon, the Diss and District Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group begins formal consultation on the Regulation 14 Pre-submission draft (Major Modifications only). The consultation will run for six weeks, and will close on Thursday 5th May 2022 at 12 noon.

A copy of the Major Modifications Consultation document and its supporting documents can be found  by clicking the relevant links or visiting the  DDNP website: www.ddnp.info.

Printed copies are also available for inspection at Diss Town Council offices or by contacting the Parish Clerk as per the details below.

Written representations should be via the online feedback form available on www.ddnp.info, or via email to ddnp@diss.gov.uk . Please note, representations must be received by the deadline of Thursday 5th May 2022.

Brome and Oakley Parish Council is looking for volunteers to help shape the development of the area.  The Diss and District Neighbourhood Plan (www.ddnp.info) brings together Diss and its six surrounding parishes to plan a coordinated future for housing, transport, industry and other development issues in the area.  This needs to be balanced against the wishes of local parishioners, landowners and other stakeholders to enable our villages to evolve in a way that is appropriate to local needs, is sustainable, and is respectful of our natural environment.  The DDNP Steering Group does this with support from local councils represented by people from the communities themselves.  Brome and Oakley is looking for additional community representatives to join the Steering Group and take part in formulating the Neighbourhood Plan.  The DDNP Steering Group meets via Zoom on the third Monday of each month at 7:30 in the evening.  Please contact the Parish Clerk (details below) for more information.

Following concerns of residents of Oakley, Brome and Oakley Parish Council have approval to operate a COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH SCHEME. We currently have two locations on the B1118, Low Road Oakley, where the speed gun can be operated from and the equipment is available for use. However, this is not possible without volunteers. Are you able to commit a few hours per week? Please get in touch to find out more.Full training is provided by Suffolk Police. One volunteer will need to act as co-ordinator and store the equipment at their property. Telephone: 07554 733621. Email: bromeandoakleypc@hotmail.co.uk or speak with any of your Parish Councillors

The Parish Council usually meets monthly, with the exception of August and December. Agendas for the meetings are published on this website.

The Parish Council will next meet on Monday 13 June 2022 the Village Hall at 7.30 pm. Sarah Foote,
Parish Clerk, c/o Church Hill, Hoxne, Suffolk IP21 5AT
